This is the first report detailing complete PM4 gene analysis from Indian P. vivax isolates. Blast results of sequences of P. vivax plasmepsin 4 (PvPM4) shows 100% homology among isolates of P. vivax collected from different geographical regions of India.

This investigation was to explore the metabolic status of GSTs in two Indian DDT-resistant malaria vectors, Anopheles culicifacies and Anopheles annularis, and one DDT-susceptible vector, Anopheles fluviatilis. Malkangiri and Koraput districts of Orissa State, endemic for falciparum malaria and having a long insecticide spraying history, were the study areas.

Considering malaria is a highly fatal vector-borne infectious disease, inference on population genetic structure and demography could be of help in the long run for malaria vector management and control. Using the published genome sequence information of Anopheles gambiae we designed EPIC primers
