Vote for MOMALA, a revolutionary new way to diagnose malaria

July 12, 2016 - 10:24 -- Bart G.J. Knols
The contribution below was provided by Geert Klein Breteler, who is involved in the development of MOMALA.
Last week we were invited by AMREF in Kenya for our project called MOMALA.
MOMALA is a product that can diagnose malaria using a smartphone.
During our stay in Kenya we visited a couple of hospitals, queues of women with young children were waiting for a diagnosis, because there was only one person to operate the microscope.
Early diagnosis and prompt treatment is the only way to save lives!
MOMALA can help because it can diagnose malaria fast and with a high accuracy (98,3%).
Now we need your help. This week you can vote for MOMALA. We only need a few hundred more votes, so we can go on to the next round of the Accenture Innovation Awards!

For more information about MOMALA have a look at the website and blog at
Thanks in advance for helping us to bring a new method for malaria diagnosis to the world!

Dear Stuart,

I believe that the development of this product was no longer pursued after technical issues surfaced.

Thank you.
