MIM2018: Save the date - Link Symposium

April 12, 2018 - 17:59 -- MIM 2018

7th MIM Pan African Malaria Conference

Providing the LINKs to strengthen the use of data for malaria decision making in sub-Saharan Africa (Symposium 16)

The symposium explores challenges and opportunities of access to, and use of, modelled geospatial prevalence data in sub-Saharan Africa and its role in evidence-based decision making. Distinct regional variations in malaria prevalence arise out of the interplay of contextual factors with an effective malaria control programme. These variations potentially give National Malaria Control Programmes (NMCPs) the opportunity to better target malaria control interventions to where they are most needed.

We invite you to join us at MIM for our symposium where we present World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Africa and London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine/LINK work which provide an insight into how malaria data are used in order to inform programme decisions for more effective malaria control.

Chaired by Dr Abdisalan Noor, from the WHO Global Malaria Programme, the symposium features presentations from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme, WHO Regional Office for Africa and the Sierra Leone NMCP.
