Awards to help cover travel costs and other expenses associated with attending the 6th MIM Pan-African Malaria Conference 2013 will be available to 100 African Researchers based at African Universities/Research Institutions. Funds are, however, very limited, so if you are able to source funds elsewhere, please do so.
Before submitting your application for an award, please read the following criteria and application instructions carefully.
Individuals who wish to apply for a conference attendance award must be based at an African University or Research Institution at the time of submitting the awards application.
Vetting of applications
Applicants will be judged according to the following criteria:
- Acceptance of submitted abstract for either an oral or poster presentation
- Preference will be given to early stage researchers and first time attendees
- Economic status of the African Country the applicant is from
The award covers the following costs:
Air travel to and from Durban
Ground travel expenses from the airport to the hotel in Durban
Ground travel expenses to and from hotel in Durban to the ICC
Accommodation for the duration of the conference
Registration fee, includes entrance all sessions, conference materials, lunches, coffee breaks, welcome cocktail and gala dinner

Selection and notification of awards recipients
Applications meeting the eligibility criteria will be considered and outcomes will be announced by 15 July 2013.
