Jointly organised by the Jenner Institute, Fondation Merieux and Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research, the course will be covering the main aspects of vaccinology, the vaccine development process, biomanufacturing and well as regulatory and ethical issues.
The faculty will be high-profile lecturers drawn from the University of Oxford's Vaccinology Programme, the Fondation Merieux's Advanced Course of Vaccinology (ADVAC) and West African vaccine experts. The course resonates with the 'One Health' agenda - highlighting human and veterinary links and synergies from scientific, technological and regulatory perspectives.
The course is aimed at students, researchers and professionals resident in Africa. Delegate numbers will be limited to 30 participants. Translation into French will be available. The deadline for applying is 8th July 2013.
Participation is competitive and places are allocated based on individual applications. 15 places are available which will cover the course fee, accommodation and meals during the course. A further 15 bursaries are available for those living further afield which will also include travel expenses.
