The Barcelona Centre for International Health Research (CRESIB), leading research at the Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal), together with The New York Academy of Sciences, “la Caixa” Foundation and the International Center for Scientific Debate (B-Debate), will present an international, 2-day scientific conference titled “Advances in Plasmodium vivax Malaria Research” (www.nyas.org/vivax). This meeting will convene an international, multidisciplinary community on the P. vivax research field, and will take place on May 28-29, 2013 at the CosmoCaixa Science Museum in Barcelona, Spain.
Following the conference, ISGlobal-CRESIB will independently organize 6 Satellite interdisciplinary workshops titled "Assessing the Plasmodium vivax Research Agenda" (www.nyas.org/vivaxworkshop) on, May 30th, 2013, also at CosmoCaixa.
The conference and workshops represent the fourth international meeting of the P. vivax research community and shall provide a neutral forum for the discussion of this species’ molecular biology and genomics; host-parasite interactions; novel research techniques; drug resistance and drug discovery; also providing a perspective on how P. vivax interventions will impact the global goal of malaria eradication.
