LSTM is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for research in tropical diseases.   The creation of effective links with governments, organisations and institutions and responding to the health needs of communities allows LSTM  to promote improved health, particularly for people of the less developed / resource poorest countries in the tropics and sub-tropics.

We are seeking to appoint a Post Doctoral Research Assistant to work as part of an LSTM based multidisciplinary team of scientists involved in research in the development of in vitro, high content imaging models for the prediction of drug efficacy against TB and Malaria.  The project forms part of the PreDiCT-TB consortium (http://predict.soap-media.co.uk) which brings together twenty-one leading European research partners in tuberculosis from both Industry and Academia.

With a PhD in a Biomedical Sciences, you will have training in microbiology/parasitology and experience in the use of in vivo and in vitro experimental models used for drug discovery/development.

We are looking for an individual with excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), well developed research and analytical skills, plus the ability to work as an integral and co-operative member of a multi-disciplinary research team.  You must possess excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to achieve research objectives independent of day to day supervision
